Fletcher Shryock, a Major League Fishing (MLF) Bass Pro Tour standout, has carved a reputation as a shallow-water savant. Hailing from Ohio and now rooted in Guntersville, Alabama, this former motocross racer brings relentless energy to the water. Known for his flipping and pitching prowess, Shryock thrives in heavy cover, turning thick grass and tight pockets into his personal playground. His move to Lake Guntersville sharpened his grass-fishing skills, making him a consistent threat in any tournament.
Shryock’s career ignited with a 2011 Bass Pro Shops Southern Open win on Lake Norman—his second major event. In 2020, he notched a career-best 10th in Bass Pro Tour Angler of the Year standings, followed by a 2021 Heavy Hitters Qualifying Round victory on Jordan Lake, where he also bagged a $25,000 big-bass award with a 9-pound, 4-ounce beast. His 2022 REDCREST appearance and 2023 Heavy Hitters qualification cement his big-fish pedigree. With over $612,000 in earnings, Shryock’s a proven contender.
Regarding his gear, Shryock trusts Vicious Fishing line for its reliability.
“Vicious braid’s strength lets me horse big bass out of heavy cover without worrying about break-offs,” he said. “But I can also finesse fish with it and have absolutely no worries whatsoever. Greg and Vicious Fishing are committed to quality and I have won a lot of money using this line. He’s open-minded, he wants my opinion from the pro trail and we work together to make sure everyone has the best experience possible with the product.”
